SOGA® Recognized as a Historical Trademark of Italy

The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has officially included SOGA® in the special register of Historical Trademarks of National Interest.

This recognition is reserved for companies that have held a registered trademark for at least 50 years – or can demonstrate continuous use for more than five decades. It aims to safeguard and promote the heritage of Italy’s historical manufacturing excellence.

A Celebration of Our History

The SOGA trademark dates back to 1966, when Lino Soga, together with his father Pietro, founded the company in their hometown of Montecchio Maggiore (Vicenza, Italy).

From the very beginning, the Soga family name became a symbol of quality in the Italian electromechanical industry, associated with the design and manufacturing of rotating electrical machines.

Over the decades, strategic decisions and acquisitions allowed SOGA to expand steadily in both domestic and international markets. Today, the company exports worldwide, with a strong presence across five continents and a reputation built on reliability, innovation, and Italian craftsmanship.

SOGA®: A Bastion of Made in Italy

SOGA SpA remains deeply rooted in the Vicenza area, where it was born and has grown into a globally recognized brand.

The SOGA trademark, now part of Italy’s official register of historical trademarks, represents a wide range of asynchronous electric motors, including:

• Single-phase motors

• Three-phase motors

• Low-center motors

• Permanent magnet motors

• Gearmotors (standard, special, and custom for OEMs)

All production is proudly Made in Italy. At the Montecchio Maggiore facilities, SOGA manufactures the majority of its components in-house – from copper windings to shafts, flanges, and shields. Each motor is then assembled and tested using Lean manufacturing principles and Industry 4.0 automated equipment to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
