Synchronous Motors
SOGA PMM series are innovative three-phase synchronous permanent magnet motors designed for variable speed with maximum torque and efficiency. Equipped with high-performance neodymium rotors, they are available in low speed, high efficiency, high performance, and constant torque ranges. Built in IEC standard sizes for easy interchangeability, these compact motors are ideal for compressors, fans, pumps, gearboxes, automation, cranes, and machine tools, delivering superior output with reduced operating costs.
SOGA products of PMM series are new-designed three-phase synchronous permanent magnet motors offering highest output and torque performances at variable speed. They can be supplied by the most of standard inverters available in the market commonly used with asynchronous motors, if suitable to drive also synchronous permanent magnet motors.
PMMs, equipped with neodymium (NdFeb) modular multipole rotors, are recommended in different applications, depending on the 4 design versions adopted:
1. LOW SPEED RANGE:
Motors for “direct drive” use to avoid speed reduction systems or also to simplify them with fewer reduction stages (therefore, by further improving efficiency).
2. HIGH EFFICIENCY RANGE:
Motors with highest torque and efficiency values. They are the ideal solution to ensure, with compact and light size, high performances in continuous duty at variable speed by reducing the system operating costs.
3. HIGH PERFORMANCE RANGE:
Motors with a good efficiency level (IE3) that, on IEC160 frame size, offer output and torque performances much superior than the ones of traditional asynchronous motors. This is the best solution for machines with small space to place a motor.
4. CONSTANT TORQUE RANGE:
Servo-ventilated motors with resolver or encoder for constant torque applications.
PMM motors are made in IEC standard mechanical design on the frame sizes 90, 112 and 160, in all possible construction forms, to allow an easy interchangeability with traditional asynchronous motors but offering much superior features in reduced dimensions.
On request customized executions can be realized with special shafts, flanges and components to better fit the client’s requirements.
For optimizing the performances and further reducing the overall dimensions, also our flat motors MR71 and MR93 for cutting machines are available in PMM synchronous versions.
Typical applications for this kind of motors are: screw compressors, industrial fans, pumps, gearboxes, industrial automation, cranes, rewinding rollers, tool machines, textile machines, etc.

SOGA low speed synchronous brushless permanent magnet motors are designed for direct drive applications, eliminating or simplifying gear reduction systems to boost efficiency. Compact and reliable, they are ideal for gearboxes, winches, roller conveyors, fans, compressors, mixers, and automation systems.
2. HIGH EFFICIENCY RANGE
SOGA high efficiency permanent magnet motors deliver maximum torque and energy savings in a compact, lightweight design. Ideal for HVAC, material handling, vacuum pumps, and screw compressors, they ensure reliable continuous duty at variable speed while reducing system operating costs.
3. HIGH PERFORMANCE RANGE
SOGA high performance synchronous brushless permanent magnet motors (IE3) deliver superior output and torque compared to traditional asynchronous motors. Compact and powerful, they are the best choice for applications with limited installation space, such as machinery requiring high efficiency and robust performance.
4. CONSTANT TORQUE RANGE
SOGA constant torque synchronous brushless permanent magnet motors are servo-ventilated and equipped with resolver or encoder for precise control. Designed for automation systems, they ensure reliable constant torque in roller conveyors, belts, unwinders, feeders, presses, and gearboxes.
